Singer Michelle Branch’s miscarriage was totally supported by her husband and family. The American songwriter revealed she suffered a miscarriage within December.

“Just when we were rounding third and heading home (A baseball metaphor?! I know.) 2020 was like, ‘nah, I ain’t done yet,’” the “Breathe” The 37-year-old singer shared on her Instagram, Saturday, posting a series of family pictures. “December decided to really finish us off with a bang! No, literally. A bomb went off in downtown Nashville yesterday.”

“And to further twist a dagger in my heart, I experienced my first miscarriage (ugh! Motherf*cker!) But alas, between the crying and binge eating of Christmas cookies, I decided to put on lipstick and a dress.” Branch continued, “We drank champagne alllll day. Made an incredible meal and sang Christmas songs snuggled up by a roaring fire. 5 more days until 2021.”

Michelle continued to share that although this preceding month has been challenging, she has been able to lean on Patrick Carney, her husband, as well as her sister. She didn’t mention any specific reason for her miscarriage.

Michelle Branch’s Miscarriage Instagram Post Followed By Nashville Bombing

In addition to Michelle Branch’s miscarriage, She remarked on the massive Nashville Christmas day explosion, which wounded three people and attacked more than 40 businesses in the city after an RV exploded.

Branch has a two-year-old son named Rhys James Carney, with her husband Patrick Carney of The Black Keys.

The Best You Ever singer also shares her 15-year-old daughter’s co-parenting responsibilities, named Owen, with her ex-husband Teddy Landau.

Branch wore a green crown while posturing for photos with a few of her beloved ones on a unique holiday as many were departed from family for the sake of the COVID-19 pandemic and many stay at home orders.

“These people, my precious family, my husband, sister and kids have been the MVP’s.” She worte, “I couldn’t imagine spending a year isolated with anyone else. Happy Christmas, everyone xx.”

Branch and Carney met at a Grammy’s party in 2015 and have been espoused for more than one year.

Clarifying that she’s “limping to the finish line,” Michelle asked her husband Patrick Carney and extended family, “the MVPs,” replying, “I couldn’t imagine spending a year isolated with anyone else.”

In 2005, while coupled to Teddy Landau, the Grammy-winning singer gave birth to her daughter Owen Isabelle.

Michelle, who published her third and most recent album Hopeless Romantic, 2017, lives in Nashville, Tenn., where on Friday, an RV collapsed and wounded three people, according to Mayor John Cooper.

In April 2017, Michelle Branch informed PEOPLE that her relationship with Patrick Carney and their family dynamic was much “like Modern Family.” In the same year of her separation with Landau, she and Owen moved in with Patrick in Nashville, Tennessee.
