Road Warrior Animal and his partner Hawk were the biggest stars of WWE tag-team during the 1980s and 90s. But unfortunately, he passed away due to an unspecified reason. We will announce the death cause as soon as possible.

Hulk Hogan was the first person who broke the news on tweeter: “RIP Animal, love you my brother.” He said that he knows that Joseph and Hawk had a lot of unfinished business to do. “God speed and blessings to your beautiful family, one love4Life. HH.”

And then this sad news was confirmed on Animal’s own Twitter page, during a statement saying: “At this time, we would like to confirm the passing of Joseph Laurinaitis aka Road Warrior Animal at the age of 60.”

This is a massive loss for the millions of fans who developed watching the Road Warriors, considered by most people to be the most remarkable tag team in pro wrestling history.

Animal and Hawk were two-time WWE champions, while the former also held the belts once with Heidenreich. He was scheduled to appear at this weekend’s Jerry “The King” Lawler 50th Anniversary show.

Animal and Hawk managed professional wrestling during their years with the NWA and AWA in the 1980s before moving onto the World Wrestling Federation in 1990.

He officially announced his separation from the ring in February 2014.

Animal and Hawk won tag team gold throughout virtually every significant organization together, becoming the only duo to win the AWA, NWA, and WWF World Tag Team titles. Also, completing that trifecta in 1991.

Laurinaitis also had solo runs for significant promotions, including the WWF in 1992 after Hawk left the company, in WCW in 2001, and in WWE in 2005–06.

Hegstrand predeceased Laurinaitis in 2003. Along with manager Paul Ellering, the collective was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.

He had two wrestler brothers. One of them, John Laurinaitis, aka Johnny Ace, is the former Executive Vice President of Talent Relations for WWE. The other brother, Marcus Laurinaitis, is a former wrestler.
