Unexpectedly, soccer player Thamba Mbungu’s death news was confirmed after an active police investigation of a suspicious death at Derryfield Park (450 Bridge Street) had been started.
It is reported that a body of a young adult male was found in Derryfield Park. At 7:38 a.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021, a call came in for an unresponsive person. The report listed the person as “not breathing at all.”
The young man was identified as Thamba Mbungu, a New England Revolution player whose cause of death has not been confirmed yet. It is not clear what happened to him and what led him to death. US day News doesn’t confirm or refuse this reason for his death, but we are waiting for more official information, so stay with us.
He was not transported by ALS but remained to wait for the medical examiners. The playgrounds, baseball and football fields, and parking lot are all yellow taped off.
The investigators have made a positive ID and are investigating. Family and friends have been at the scene. This morning’s softball games were scheduled on the rear field that the police told them they had to cancel shortly before 8 a.m. There was a family on the scene behind the police line.
