Following the family’s mistake, Olivia Jade Giannulli’s college scandal landed her parents, actress Lori Loughlin and designer Mossimo Giannulli, in prison.

Since both of her parents are serving time in prison, the star Olivia Jade Giannulli sat down on Red Table Talk to finally break her silence over the college admissions scandal from last year. “There is no justifying or excusing what happened because what happened was wrong,” she said.

Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli are both currently serving federal jail sentences after being charged with playing roles in faking their two daughters’ permission applications to the University of Southern California. As it appeared, it was as part of an extensive college admissions scandal that ensnared several Hollywood stars.

William Rick Singer, a College counselor, confessed in his guilty plea that he received large sums of money to guarantee that the children of very wealthy people would be allowed at very selective universities.

The singer faked resumes and athletic credentials and arranged cheating on patterned tests. As for Olivia Jade Giannulli’s case, she and her sister were supposedly photographed on a rowing machine to mislead that they were potential college-level crew athletes.

Olivia, 21, was later admitted to the University of Southern California, where she was a student when the scandal went public.
