Washington, D.C., police are investigating the Maryland Young Democrats President’s death cause after he was found dead in the District. More than a week ago he went missing in Maryland.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington confirmed the department is leading the investigation into the Maryland Young Democrats President’s death cause.

According to Prince George’s County police, Joseph Kitchen’s death confirmed on Sunday night, about a day after the department required the public’s help in finding him. 34-year-old Kitchen had been missing since 8 August.

He was last seen at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis approximately 37 miles east of Washington.

In July, two weeks before his missing, Kitchen opened up about how he had been “struggling.”

Maryland Young Democrats President’s death cause isn’t identified yet

Police released no more details on Maryland Young Democrats President’s death yet.

The Young Democrats of America said on Twitter Sunday night. “Joseph always pushed YDA to live up to its values and was someone who was not satisfied with accepting the status quo. His passion will be deeply missed.”

Lawrence Ramirez, Maryland Young Democrats President’s brother, explained about his brother before his death news was published. He said that Kitchen had worked for the Washington School for Girls and that he was the only member of his family in the District.

“We’re just really trying to stay positive and hope that he returns safely, but this is just very out of character for him,” said Ramirez before his brother’s body was found.
