With the most profound sorrow, we have to inform you that the Eisner-winning comics artist passed away at 66, announced on June 16, 2022. Tim Sale’s cause of death has not been revealed yet, but many believe it was due to some health issues.

Born on May 1, 1956, Mr. Sale is known to be an amazing and talented American Eisner Award-winning comics artist, who attracted lots of attention to his works for his collaborations with writer Jeph Loeb.

Before moving to New York City, he went to the University of Washington for two years. After that, he attended the School of Visual Arts, as well as the comics workshop run by artist John Buscema.

After a while, he planned to return to Seattle before graduating from SVA. To name a few of his selected works:

As many believe, the modern superhero wouldn’t be what it was without the work of artist Tim Sale. His moody, energetic work on characters such as Batman, Hulk, Spider-Man, Superman, and basically many heroic comics, helped define modern myths and understandings about the character.

About Tim Sale’s cause of death must be noted that no official reports have mentioned any specific disease for it; however, Jim Lee announced that Mr. Sale had been admitted to the hospital on June 13, 2022, with severe health problems.

According to Representatives of Sale, he was in the hospital while asking for privacy. The legend sadly passed away three days later on June 16.

Doc Shaner expressed: “Superman For All Seasons was the first Superman book I really connected with in high school. So much of that was thanks to Tim’s work, and it remains a favorite because of him. Rest in peace, Tim Sale.”

A fan tweeted: “ Tim Sale’s influence on my love of American comics cannot be understated. Anytime I need a reminder of how much I love the medium, I read Spider-Man: Blue or Superman for All Seasons. My superhero touchstones, if you will. RIP Tim Sale, and thank you.”

One wrote: “I just heard about Tim Sale’s passing. What a huge loss for comics. I met him briefly at dragon con and it was great to browse his art. He had such a unique and beautiful art style. I don’t think any other artist has captured the sense of longing in Superman-like he did.”

Remembering Tim Sale announced: “It’s with a heavy sadness that I must announce that Tim Sale passed away today. He passed with the love of his life beside him and loves all of you very much. Please share photos and stories under this post, as we hope to share them with the community.”
