Fans React with Displeasure to Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear
A whole load of people online aren’t particularly glad about the news of setting Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear, an iconic Pixar character, which previously voiced by Tim Allen.
The “ Captain America “ star will voice “the original Buzz Lightyear” in a new Pixar film, “Lightyear,” the studio tweeted. The new film will explore the life of the “Toy Story” character, voiced by Tim Allen in the four “Toy Story” movies.
Evans opened up about replacing with Tim Allen as the voice of beloved Buzz Lightyear in a tweet, announcing: “Just to be clear, this isn’t Buzz Lightyear the toy. This is the origin story of the human Buzz Lightyear that the toy is based on.”
Tim Allen has provided the dulcet tones of the toy spaceman since Toy Story came out in the 1990s, but now Evans is set to take over for a new film called simply Lightyear that it’s partly separate from the “Toy Story” movies.
“ Toy Story 4 “ finished the story of Woody and the rest of the gang, and then this animated prequel is set for a June 17, 2022 premiere.
New Buzz Lightyear voice retired his “Captain America” role after last year’s “Avengers: Endgame.” Angus MacLane, who has appeared as an animator “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.,” WALL·E” and “Ratatouille,” is set to direct the new movie.
Disney Introduce Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear
Disney made the decision yesterday (10 December), said that the forthcoming film would tell the story of Lightyear’s journey from being a ‘young test pilot that became the Space Ranger we all know him to be today.’
Sounds exciting enough, but the reaction was unpredictable a bit…fans are not glad at all!
One user wrote: “There is no #buzzlightyear without @ofctimallen.”
Another person commented: “There’s only one #BuzzLightyear and his name is Tim Allen.”
“Its NOT Buzz Lightyear without Tim Allen….Why is he being replaced with Chris Evans?” someone repeated what most people said.
